On 4 June the Delft Design for Values Institute hosts the Share Fair: Design for Justice!
This event will share knowledge, networks, perspectives, insights on the subject of Design and Justice. It will be open to students (with a reduced fee), researchers (in and outside TU Delft and also outside academia), designers, policymakers and any other individuals that are interested in design and justice.
Professor Jeroen van den Hoven will kick off the event by providing insights how the role of designing for values can be outside academia. Professor Ibo van de Poel (Scientific Director of Delft Design for Values and member of the ESDiT Management Board) will give an introduction on Design for Justice and the past activities of our annual theme.
Suze Gehem (Groene Grachten) will deliver a keynote about her experience with sustainable renovation projects of historical buildings, while Professor Colleen Murphy (University of Illinois) will discuss design questions that should be asked to help ensure new technologies are designed for justice, and not to facilitate injustice.
There will also be the opportunity for the participants to actively engage in workshops on energy justice, spatial justice, justice and the future of work, participation justice, decolonial justice and design for values and climate justice.
Finally, the White Paper on Design for Justice will be presented, as well as the winner of the thesis awards on design for justice.
