The call for registration for the 4Tu.Ethics | ESDIT conference “Rethinking Ethics – Reimagining Technology” (2-4 October 2024, University of Twente, NL) is now open!
Under the theme of “Rethinking Ethics – Reimagining Technology”, the Conference aims to investigate what philosophy and ethics of technology mean today. It will gather scholars working on philosophy and ethics of technology and include a variety of topics, such as conceptual analysis, reflections on methods for studying and evaluating technology, case-studies in the ethics of (disruptive) technologies, sustainable technology, praxis-oriented approaches geared towards design and social implications, and more.
It will bring together scholars working on different issues related to philosophy and ethics of technology, including conceptual analysis, reflections on methods for studying and evaluating technology, case-studies in the ethics of (disruptive) technologies, sustainable technology, praxis-oriented approaches geared towards design and social implications, or topics related to these. The programme will feature panel discussions, roundtables, and paper presentations from a broad international community of scholars.
Additionally, in collaboration with the ESDiT art-track and invited artists, several artworks and installations will be exhibited, studied, and discussed during the conference.
Keynote lectures will be delivered by Bernadette Bensaude-Vincent (Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne); Stephen M. Gardiner (University of Washington); and Emma Ruttkamp-Bloem (University of Pretoria).
The registration fee is €200 (early bird) or €150 for (PhD) students. After July 1, the registration fee is €250. This fee includes drinks and bites (day 1); a conference dinner (day 2); as well as refreshments and lunches (all days).
